The LED ring around the fan blade can cycle through colors automatically or hold on a single color. You can also turn the lighting off entirely and run it as a plain desk fan. The light is ambient level, roughly similar to a dim nightlight. It is not bright enough to light a room.

Who this fan works well for

Home office desk. The fan sits flat on a desk without taking up much space. At low speed, noise measures under 45 dB, which is quiet enough for most video call setups. The 4.9 ft cable gives you flexibility on where to place it relative to your USB outlet or laptop.

Bedside table. Some people use this fan at night for the combination of light airflow and soft ambient light. At low speed it is quiet enough for most people to sleep near. At high speed, 58 dB is roughly the level of a quiet conversation, which some people find fine and others find distracting.

Desk with a gaming or streaming setup. The LED ring adds some color to the desk area without being a separate LED accessory to manage. It runs independently from the fan speed, so you can set the light to any color and adjust fan speed separately.

Dorm room or shared space. Compact enough to fit on a small nightstand or desk corner. The 360-degree rotation means you can point it at yourself from almost any placement position.

What to know before buying

This fan requires a USB power source to run. It does not have a built-in battery. It works from a laptop USB port, a USB wall adapter, a power bank, or a USB car charger. If your setup does not have a free USB port, you will need an adapter.

At high speed, the fan runs at around 58 dB. That is louder than the low setting. If you are sensitive to fan noise or share a room with someone who is a light sleeper, low or medium speed is the practical range for this fan.
